Judge Juan Merchán can “save his reputation” if he dismisses the NY v. Trump, former President Donald Trump said Wednesday in remarks outside the Manhattan courtroom.
“The confusion is that no one knows what the crime is because there is no crime. No one knows what the crime is. The district attorney didn’t name the current crime. They don’t know what the crime is. That’s the problem. It’s a shame “This should end immediately. The judge should put an end to it and save his reputation,” Trump said Wednesday night.
Trump’s comments came after jury deliberations began Wednesday.
Since those deliberations began, the jury sent two notes to Merchan, including a request to hear his instructions again. In New York criminal cases, jurors cannot receive copies of jury instructions or witness transcripts.
