Most voters prefer former President Donald Trump to handle their top issues over President Joe Biden ahead of the 2024 election, recent polls show.
A new NBC News poll finds that inflation is the No. 1 issue for voters heading into November, an issue that most respondents believe Trump would handle better than the current president.
When asked who they preferred to handle the issue of rising costs, the majority of respondents, 52%, said they preferred Trump to Biden.
Only 30% of likely voters said they think Biden is better at leading on the issue.

The poll also found that the crisis at the southern border is the second most important issue for voters, another area in which Biden trailed Trump.
When asked about their opinion on the president’s handling of immigration and the border crisis, a whopping 69% of respondents said they disapprove of Biden’s handling of the crisis.

The April NBC poll did not ask respondents their current opinion of Trump’s handling of the immigration crisis, but a January NBC poll found that 57% of respondents preferred Trump’s handling of the border issue. part of the former president to only 22% who favored Biden. .
The poll also found that if the election were held today, Trump would lead Biden by 2 points, 46% to 44%.
The results are the latest in a series of polls showing that voters are not only more concerned about the border and rising costs, but are confident that Trump will be the best presidential candidate to handle these issues.
Recent state-level Fox News polls in Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin reflected results that Trump is the preferred candidate to handle immigration and economic issues over Biden.
Additionally, a recent Axios/Ipsos poll found that 42% of Latino voters believe Trump is good for the economy, while only 20% could say the same about Biden. Regarding the issue of immigration, 29% of Latino respondents rated Trump positively, compared to 22% who preferred Biden.

The NBC poll was conducted April 12-16, 2024, with a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.
