Ellen DeGeneres has canceled four of her upcoming comedy shows, for reasons that remain unclear.
Ellen’s Last Stand… Up Tour is the former TV host’s first major foray into the spotlight, two years after her eponymous talk show was canceled amid allegations of workplace toxicity. DeGeneres Ticketmaster PageTour dates in Dallas, San Francisco, Seattle and Chicago have been cancelled.
“Unfortunately, the event organizer had to cancel their event,” reads the Ticketmaster update.
DeGeneres has not yet made any public statements about the reason for the cancellation of these shows. Her team has also not provided any information about the abrupt cancellations. The Dallas show that was canceled was scheduled for July 10 and the Chicago show was scheduled for August 11. Both dates were the only shows scheduled for these cities.
DeGeneres was scheduled to perform two nights in San Francisco (July 20-21) and Seattle (July 22-23). In both cities, the second date of the tour has been cancelled.

DeGeneres used to be a titan of daytime television with The Ellen DeGeneres Show. She fell from grace in 2020 after show employees alleged racism, bullying and sexual misconduct at the hands of top producers. Three producers were fired following the scandal. DeGeneres reportedly addressed her unceremonious exit from daytime television during a sketch comedy show on Ellen’s Last Stand, joking that she was “kicked out” of showbiz for being “mean.”

“The girl who said ‘be nice’ wasn’t nice. That was the headline,” DeGeneres continued, referencing how she used to end all of her sample with the phrase “Be kind to one another.”
DeGeneres later commented that the fallout from the 2020 investigation into her show was actually the second time she was “kicked out of show business,” referencing how her sitcom Elena, which was cancelled in 1998 after she came out as gay.
“For those keeping count, this is the second time I’ve been kicked out of show business… Eventually I’ll be kicked out a third time because I’m mean, old and gay.”
DeGeneres apologized to her staff in July 2020 after allegations of a toxic workplace surfaced.
“On the first day of our program, I told everyone at our first meeting that The Ellen DeGeneres Show “It would be a place of happiness, no one would raise their voice and everyone would be treated with respect,” DeGeneres said. “Obviously, something has changed and I’m disappointed that it hasn’t. And for that, I’m sorry. Anyone who knows me knows that’s the opposite of what I believe in and what I hoped for our show.”
